galaxy_1.9TD_Zetec Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Good Morning, I am just after removing rear bumper on Gal MkII, doing a bit of re-enforment behind it (where it came in contact with a concrete bollard and became mis-shaped !!). I used araldite (2 piece - resin & hardener) to re-make some of the internal trims that were damaged - anyone got experience of using another sort of adhesive on the inside of the bumper ???? jwilliams Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Best thing I have used is designed for motorbike farings. Basically an adhesive like araldite to mend the break but then apply a backing of woven glass fibre mat using an adhesive similar to superglue. It formed a repair which was stronger than the plastic around it. It was Three Bond Bodywork Repair Kit. Quote
Andrew T Posted August 18, 2006 Report Posted August 18, 2006 Have a look in the back pages of Autotrader. There are firms that do a plastic welding service on cracked bumpers. Quote
